Alexis' Baby Shower
Remember this plastic cake plate in my previous post? Here's what Krystle did with them for a baby shower...
She helped host a baby shower brunch among 6 friends at a restaurant called Horatio's. I love how this shower is small and intimate. She layed out all the cake stand in the middle and used them for jumbo red velvet cupcakes!
She used my extra toppers that I had from my brother's baby shower which was designed by Lorell from Sweetly Sweet in her baby shower collection. I just made a matching label for the flower centerpiece (which were also used as favor tags) and the "Aiyess" topper.
Each person had a place card along with a cookie as favors.
There was 3 different designs of cookies and they were YUMMY!

Hmmm the dessert table..full of yummy sweets!!! I also love the butterflies hanging on the wall!

DIY Cake Stand...with plastic!
After my cousin Krystle saw the cake stand I made in my previous post, she wanted to make a mini cake stand for individual cupcakes. She also wanted it disposable but sturdy...so... she got the clear dessert plate (8 ct) and clear "shot glass" cup (24 ct) from the $1 store (all plastic!).
use a LOW-temp glue gun to glue the pieces together. I just put some glue on the bottom of the shot glass cup
then stuck it to the bottom of the plate in the center.
Ta-Da! This time, its ready fast! No waiting for hours the the "real" glass cake stand! =)
Pictures coming soon of how Krystle used these plastic stands for a baby shower! =)

Please excuse my blurry pictures, I had to take it from my phone as you can see because my camera is right there...hehe! The purple is really pretty, the camera never gives purple any justice! The purple minky feels great on my skin. I also added a lens pocket because I am ALWAYS misplacing the lens cover!!!

DIY Cake Stand!
After seeing this Cake Plate Tutorial from Your Homebase Mom, I wanted to make some of my own too! I love how you can use any plate you desire!
For each cake plate you will need:
1 candle holder
1 plate
E6000 glue
1 candle holder
1 plate
E6000 glue
I found the candle holders and plate from my local $1 store.
I had this glue on hand so I forgot how much the price is, I got this from Michael's Arts and Crafts.
Now get your holder and plate together, turn the plate upside down and try to determine where the center is.
Then add glue to the top of the holder
then turn the holder upside down and put into the center of the plate.
Let dry for 2-6 hours (per directions of glue) I just left it overnight.
Then TA-DA!!! you got your own cake plate!!!
Took a picture of these cake balls using the stand. Silly me didn't take a picture of the whole stand...we ate all the cake balls before I realize it! hehe!
Now off to try to make these plates into plate stand too! I got these on clearance from Michaels!

DIY: Fairy Wings...Refashion!!!
Who doesn't love playing dress up? Especially with fairy wings! I got this purple bee wing from my local $1 store! Problem is....I didn't like that bee...I wanted it to be more pretty! So I also grabbed 1 bundle of flowers from the $1 store to cover the bee!
before gluing the flowers to the bee with the hot glue gun, I thought I needed two flowers (I took the flower heads off the stem). But instead, I cut the bee off, just leaving the part that was already glued to the wings and I only needed one flower.
I love how it came out! SOOOOOOOO much better than the bee! Talk about refashion! LOL!
My daughter LOVED it...but then again...she has so many wings! hehe...she loves playing dress up with the wings and sometimes she wants her tutu! I bought her these wings because it was inexpensive and I didn't want her to ruin the ones she already had.
I also bought this ladybug wing along with the bee....I might just leave this one alone...what do you think?rLeave it or put black or red flower? =) Get your wings now if your local dollar store carries it!
