BAKERELLA

I was sooooo excited when I heard Angie of Bakerella was coming to Walnut Creek, CA for her book signing!!! I FINALLY met the cake pop QUEEN last Friday!!! I almost didn't go because I had no babysitter! Luckily my mom was off on vacation last week! Whew! It was meant to be! LOL!
For those of you who haven't heard about her (but I'm sure EVERYONE does!) she came out with her first book of cake pops. There's a bunch of how-to's for cake pops including the BASIC cake balls. Her blog is AMAZING! Wonderful pictures that show each steps!
I was the 11th in line! I went by myself...the fans in line were GREAT, we all chatted and shared some tips while waiting! =) The William Sonoma staffs were great too, they came out and served us some FRESH pumpkin treats!
Isn't she cute! She took the time to answer Q&A! I was so busy taking pictures that I didn't even hear all the questions! =P
I caught her doing her famous "hand in the air"! HEHE!
got a picture of Julie too! =)
I was so nervous! My heart was beating...my first book signing with my idol! She inspired ALL the cake pops that I make, I mean ALL!!!
I said "I love your page!" I really meant to say "I love your blog, love all your work, you're so amazing!" I was so nervous that that was all I said to her! I'm thinking to myself after..."OMG..really...that's all I could say!?" hehe!
Since I was there, I got my daughter a book signed too. Jaela is only 1, almost 2 years old...Hopefully when she gets older, she'll enjoy this book. Maybe she will be one of the only girl in her generation to have an autograph book from Bakerella's FIRST book =) I know by that time Bakerella would have a 100 books! =P

It was nice to meet you Angie! =)

Well, Marie sent me the pictures to her daughter's cupcake party and they were so adorable!
Cute cake by Minia's Bake Shop. I love how the colors match the theme so perfectly
I designed the cupcake toppers and banner, and made cake pops/bites for the special birthday girl!

Jake goes to Kindergarden!

Oh how time flies! It was my son's FIRST day of Kindergarden! I didn't know what to expect! I wasn't sure if he'd look for me or start crying...turns out I'M the one teary eyed!!!

He's been waiting to go to school! I didn't enroll him in Pre-School because I thought he didn't need to. He's pretty smart for his age and he gets along with anyone and everyone! So today I was so nervous to leave him! When we picked him up, he was so excited and he said he couldn't wait to go back tomorrow! Yes...easy peazy!!! Now one down and one more to go! hehe!

Now I can't wait for the bake sale IF they do ever have one! And now I can FINALLY make use of all these FREE back-to-school printables!

Here's some I saw so far...

There's so many over the web! I can't choose what to use!

Cupcake toppers: How to add stick and cover back

There's SOOO many cupcake toppers out there that you can purchase! But for those DIY printable ones...many of you have asked...
"How do I attach stick?"
"How do I cover back?"
"Do you put toppers on both sides?"

So with that being said, I wanted to share what I use to cover the back =)
I use a 1 in circle punch and punch thru a return address label so it becomes a sticker! =) BUT I found these OLD label tags laying around and I've been using this. If you notice, I leave a flat end on one edge for easy peel off. You can even use a full sheet of sticker paper. Or you can get these 1 in circles labels from your local office store.
I peel of the back of one circle and attach to a stick or 4" lollipop stick, then stick on back of topper! And you're done!

With this,  its NO need to add another topper to back but if you decide to, instead of this 1 in circle sticker, use double stick tape.

I hope these answer your questions! =)

The party was held in their backyard! Loved every detail... can you believe it rained at the party? I would never had noticed, everything looked great!
